The best Minecraft Hosting service provides wicked fast performance, 24/7 uptime with helpful support at a good price. For hosting Minecraft you want to have at least 2 GB of RAM available as well as a fast CPU to maintain performance as players join. It is important that the host has redundant connections and live support, to answer any questions and keep your server running 24/7.
Server hosting needs fast hardware and a reliable network to provide a good product. Staff maintain servers and support customers. Some competitors offer "free" plans but pay for their servers with support, ads or other limits. Operating reliable servers always carries a cost.
You can make your own Minecraft server by choosing a host and determining what resources you need. Most packages are set up immediately after you check out and ready within minutes. All you need to do is share the IP address with everyone you want to play with.
There are several ways to play Minecraft with friends including: Realms, Local Server or a Private Server. Realms is the hosting solution built into Minecraft, it is the easiest solution to work with but is the slowest and least flexible. Local Servers, are the most difficult to work with but may be the most flexible way to play Minecraft. But, Local Servers are not the safest way to play as you need to open up the server to the internet. Private Servers are a safe and fast way to host a Minecraft server, because hosting providers handle network security for you.
To add mods to your server first you will need to install Minecraft Forge or Fabric server. Then you can download the mods you want to play with, then log into your server panel (or SFTP). From there upload your mods into the 'mod' folder. After restarting the server the mods will be running.
To add plugins first you will need to install Bukkit. We recommend that you install PaperMC because, it is much faster and it supports all bukkit plugins. Then you can download the plugins you want to play with, log into your server panel (or SFTP). From there you can upload your plugins to the 'plugin' folder. After restarting the server the plugins will be running.
To join a Minecraft Server a player needs to know the address of the server and enter it into their Minecraft client. These addresses will look like 192.168.0.1:25567 but this can be confusing. An easy way to have a memorable address is to use a domain name like pixelpond.io
or play.pixelpond.io
. Once you have a domain name you will need to set up an "SRV" and a "A" record in your DNS manager. With a dedicated IP address you don't need to type the port (:25565)
and can instead type only the IP address 192.168.0.1
